The Guyver is a 1991 US/Japan action comedy by Screaming Mad George, Steve Wang
Starring Greg Joung Paik, Jimmie 'JJ' Walker and Peter Spellos

Originally MPAA R rated the film was cut for an MPAA PG-13 rated theatrical release. This theatrical version was later dubbed a Director's Cut, maybe to contrast with the shortened VHS Version. The Original R rated version was released on US Blu-ray in 2024.

The VHS Version was cut by the BBFC for 15 rated 1992 VHS. The cuts were waived in 2016 for the 12 rated Director's Cut DVD/Blu-ray.

In this thrill-a-minute action adventure, Sean Barker (Jack Armstrong) is a college student who discovers the "Guyver", an alien mechanical device that merges with his own body, turning him into a super-powerful cyborg fighting machine. The device belongs to Chronos, an evil corporation run by human mutants that metamorphize into monstrous soldiers called "Zoanoids". Chronos badly wants the Guyver back and sends a gang of Zoanoids to kidnap Sean's girlfriend, Mizuki (Vivian Wu). Sean rescues Mizuki with the help of Max Reed (Mark Hamill), a CIA agent determined to keep the device from falling into the hands of Chronos. Cut by the BBFC for 1988 cinema release and VHS. Uncut and MPAA R rated in the US.

UK cinema and video versions were cut by 9 secs to remove shots of a butterfly knife being twirled and a topless woman's stabbed body due to the BBFC's strict guidelines on knife violence at that time. Only in 2024 was the uncut version granted a 15 rating from the BBFC.

Black Mask is a 1996 Hong Kong action comedy by Daniel Lee.

Cut in Hong Kong for its theatrical release. This was then shortened for the export version which was passed 18 by the BBFC for UK home video. The uncut Hong Kong version was later released. The restored Hong Kong cuts were also restored to the Export Version resulting in the Extended Export Version. The longest version is the Taiwan Version which restores deleted scenes from a Workprint.
