Cannibal Ferox 2 is a 1985 Italy / Brazil action horror adventure by Michele Massimo Tarantini (as Michael E Lemick). Starring Michael Sopkiw, Suzane Carvalho and Milton Rodríguez.
Cut by the BBFC for 2002 DVD. Less cut for 18 rated home video in 2017. Uncut and MPAA Unrated in
the US. There is also a longer Extended Version release in Austria with deleted scenes having been reinserted. Summary Notes Michael Sopkiw hitches a ride to Brazil to dig up some dinosaur bones.
Once in Brazil he gets in a few tangles with the locals and manages to secure a ride on a charter flight deep into Amazonia. All hell breaks loose as the plane crashes deep in the heart of the jungle, leaving Sopkiw, megalomaniac Soares, and a bunch of
super models on their own to trek back to society. The group runs into cannibals, quick sand, murderous animals, and a renegade mine run by slave owners. A low budget cross between Indiana Jones and Cannibal
Ferox, this is just direct to video nonsense that seems to have found a whole new audience thanks to DVD and re-releases of long lost 80's horror. As is to be expected there is a fair bit of gore from piranha bites to
cannibalism but it is far less extreme than say Cannibal Ferox or Holocaust. On a plus point its fairly entertaining if your in the right mood, with plenty of crowd pleasing nudity.

A few days later the consumer advice was changed to remove the reference to nudity and surgical images. The entry then became: strong language. The original advice was restored after the rating was reduced to 12A. Australia:
The original MA15+ rating was downrated to M (PG-15) for nudity on appeal. The Review board explained: A three-member panel of the Classification Review Board has unanimously determined that the film
Embrace is classified M (Mature) with the consumer advice Nudity . The National Classification Code and Classification Guidelines allows for nudity to occur at the M level if it is justified by context. In the
Classification Review Board's opinion Embrace warrants an M classification because the scenes of nudity and of women's breasts and genitals in the film are justified by the context of the documentary approach to women's body image and their impact is no
higher than moderate.
New Zealand: Passed M with a descriptive note for offensive language and nudity . The New Zealand M rating is an advisory 16 rating. |
