Psycho is a 1960 US thriller by Alfred Hitchcock. With Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh and Vera Miles.
Cut by the BBFC for an X rated cinema release in 1960. Separately cut
for US release but these cuts have persisted into all worldwide VHS and DVD releases since. The Extended Director's Cut was first released on German Blu-ray, and then released in the US on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray in 2020. This release includes the cut
re-release version and the uncut extended version. Psycho II is a 1983 USA horror mystery thriller by Richard Franklin. With Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles and Meg Tilly.
The theatrical version was cut for gore. Uncut on DVD, but versions have been spotted with missing nudity Promotional Material WE ALL GO A LITTLE MAD SOMETIMES...
Shattering expectations and shocking audiences around the world, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho changed the face of cinema in 1960. It remains one of the most iconic and influential movies ever made. Twenty three
years later, Australian filmmaker Richard Franklin ( Patrick , Road Games ) boldly followed in the master's footsteps and directed Psycho II , a
sequel that not only delivered on the promise of his earlier films, but also lived up to Hitchcock's original. Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) is declared sane and released from the facility in which he was being held, despite the complaints of Lila
Loomis (née Crane, Vera Miles) sister of Norman's most famous victim. All Norman wants to do is live quietly and productively as a normal member of society. But is returning to the house he once shared with his mother, and running the motel that was the
site of so many murders, really a good idea? Is he cured, or will he kill again? Psycho III would see Anthony Perkins himself take the franchise's reins for his directorial debut, bringing a stylish flair that
suggested his time working with not only Alfred Hitchcock, but Orson Welles and Ken Russell had been well spent. A fallen nun (Diana Scarwid as Maureen Coyle), a sleazy drifter (Jeff Fahey as Duane Duke), and a curious reporter looking for a scoop
(Roberta Maxwell as Tracy Venables) all arrive at the Bates Motel and 'Mother' is less than happy, especially when Norman begins to fall in love. Meanwhile, Psycho IV: The Beginning , written by Joseph Stefano
(screenwriter of the 1960 original) and directed by master of horror Mick Garris, returns to the primal scene to show us how it all began in Anthony Perkins' final franchise appearance. Rehabilitated and happily married, Norman Bates has finally escaped
from the overbearing influence of his abusive mother. But his wife is pregnant, and Norman finds himself afraid that the child will inherit his mental illness. When he hears talk radio host Fran Ambrose (CCH Pounder) discussing the topic of matricide,
Norman calls in under a false name, to tell his story. Starring Henry Thomas ( E.T. ) as young Norman and Olivia Hussey ( Black Christmas ) as his mother, Norma. Presented
together for the first time in the UK on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, featuring all new restorations of Psycho II , III and IV from the original camera
negatives, Arrow Video invites you back inside the Bates Motel and wishes you a very pleasant stay. 4K ULTRA HD BLU-RAY LIMITED EDITION CONTENTS

The BBFC uprates The Addams Family from PG to 12A
|
|
|
| 28th September 2023
|
|
| |
The Addams Family is a 1991 USA comedy fantasy by Barry Sonnenfeld. Starring Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia and Christopher Lloyd.
There are no censorship issues with this release beyond noting that the film has always been PG rated until now. What was previously considered: 'mild comic violence and horror' has become, according to modern BBFC sensitivities: 'moderate bloody images'.
Summary Notes The Addams Family steps out of Charles Addams' cartoons. They live with all of the trappings of the macabre (including a detached hand for a servant) and are quite
wealthy. Added to this mix is a crooked accountant and his loan shark and a plot to slip the shark's son into the family as their long-lost Uncle Fester. Can the false Fester find his way into the vault before he is discovered?

however is in the money Hans will be inheriting and she is actually carrying on an affair with another circus performer, Hercules. Hans's fiancée does her best to convince him that he is being used but to no avail. At their wedding party, a drunken
Cleopatra tells the sideshow freaks just what she thinks of them. Together, the freaks decide to make her one of their own. UK: Uncut and BBFC 12 rated with a trigger warning for moderate threat, discrimination:
- 2023 Spirit Entertainment/Criterion Collection (RB) Blu-ray at UK Amazon #ad
released on 23rd October 2023
Promotional Material The world is a carnival of criminality, corruption, and psychosexual strangeness in the twisted pre-Code shockers of Tod Browning. Early Hollywood's edgiest auteur, Browning drew on
his experiences as a circus performer to create subversive pulp entertainments set amid the world of traveling sideshows, which, with their air of the exotic and the disreputable, provided a pungent backdrop for his sordid tales of outcasts, cons,
villains, and vagabonds. Bringing together two of his defining works (The Unknown and Freaks) and a long-unavailable rarity (The Mystic), this cabinet of pre-Code curiosities reveals a master of the morbid whose ability to unsettle is matched only by his
daring compassion for society's most downtrodden.

on the run from two bumbling exterminators 'of all sizes' (Paul L Smith, Popeye, and Brion James, Blade Runner).

Distributors make a right hash of implementing cuts to the British release of Jailer, an Indian blockbuster
|
|
|
| 5th September 2023
|
|
| From Scott |
Jailer is a 2023 India action comedy by Nelson Dilipkumar Starring Rajinikanth, Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar
A retired jailer goes on a manhunt to find his son's killers. But
the road leads him to a familiar, albeit a bit darker place. Can he emerge from this complex situation successfully? Jailer is one of the year's biggest South Asian films. The Tamil blockbuster was very heavily cut by 7-10 minutes for a
BBFC 12A cinema rating. The release of this film has been a real debacle. The distributor left it incredibly late to cut for 12A, so the BBFC were still watching various trial cut versions 24 hours before it was supposed to be playing in
cinemas. The film ended up being classified four times - Tamil uncut (15), Telugu cut (15, failed to get the desired 12A), Hindi cut (15, again a failed attempt at a 12A) and finally Tamil cut (12A). Based on the running times the cut
12A version is missing around 6/7 mins. The uncut version, or maybe one of the cut 15s, was sent out to cinemas while the cut 12A was prepared, however none of these had been formally classified at the time so the first screenings on opening day had to
be cancelled. There were photos and videos on Twitter showing disgruntled audiences, some of whom had already taken their seats, being told to leave by cinema staff. At least one screening was stopped mid-film. This has to be the most mishandled
release I've ever seen, by quite some margin. The BBFC commented: The BBFC initially refused to offer cuts because the changes would have been extensive and potentially damaging to the film. However, the
distributor chose to re-edit the film themselves and submitted this new version for classification. As the distributor's edits had been unsuccessful in reducing the film's violence to 12A levels, it was also classified 15. The distributor requested a
cuts list for 12A, which the BBFC provided. However, the distributor did not make the cuts as required and therefore the re-edited version of the film also received a 15 classification.

The Breakfast Club, writer-director John Hughes infused the genre with a hefty dose of wacked-out sci-fi comedy in Weird Science, a film where every teenage boy's wildest fantasies come to life. Perennially picked-on high school nerds Gary
(Anthony Michael Hall, Sixteen Candles) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) are sick of their status at the bottom of the social food chain. Using Wyatt's computer, the two hatch a plan to create their dream woman -- and following a massive power surge, that

two bullies (Robert Downey Jr and Vamp's Robert Rusler) determined to put them back in their place? Inspired by EC Comics and boosted by a killer soundtrack (including the classic title theme by Oingo Boingo), Weird Science has never looked better

Promotional Material Internationally acclaimed director Louis Malle (Elevator to the Gallows, Au Revoir les Enfants, Damage) has taken a taboo subject -- child prostitution -- and created in Pretty Baby
a film of humanity and beauty. Keith Carradine (The Long Riders) is E.J. Bellocq, a photographer in 1917 obsessed with the prostitutes in New Orleans' red-light district. Brooke Shields (The Blue Lagoon) -- whose "subtlety and depth are
astonishing" (Roger Ebert) -- is Violet, a 12-year-old girl who bewitches Bellocq with her curiosity and naïve coquettishness. Malle's level-headed treatment of this controversial theme, sumptuous cinematography by Sven Nykvist (Persona) and
exceptional performances by the entire cast -- especially Susan Sarandon (Atlantic City) as Violet's mother -- make Pretty Baby a must-see for all serious film fans. Pretty Baby was co-produced and co-written by Polly Platt (Broadcast News, Say Anything,
Bottle Rocket), the iconic producer who helped launch the film careers of legendary filmmakers James L. Brooks, Cameron Crowe and Wes Anderson. Special Features: - Brand New HD Master by Paramount Pictures --

The BBFC commented: Enter the Dragon has been passed '18' uncut. All previous film and video cuts have been waived. Throughout its history the Board has periodically
reviewed its policies and adjusted them as the situation demanded. A review of the weapons policy was undertaken in June 1999 . The review concluded that the depiction of weapons in films and other media, and the nature of the 'weapons culture' in the
real world was currently such that a firm distinction between different types of offensive weapon was no longer appropriate, and the policy has been rationalised so that knives, nunchakus, knuckle-dusters, ninja stars, and other easily obtainable weapons
are now judged on exactly the same basis. Depictions of offensive weapons continue to be liable to cuts if they are considered likely to encourage violent behaviour in the real world. Enter the Dragon was
resubmitted in its uncut form this year and, in accordance with the Board's revised policy, has now been passed '18' without cuts. The 21 second cut made to the brief use of nunchaku in 1993 has been waived. Ireland: - Golden

Thanks to Philip: Not so uncut The film was finally released uncut nearly 30 years after its initial release. However the print used for the uncut version may not be so. It's been stated
by various people on the internet that some of the violence was toned down between its cinema and video releases. One scene in particular is the fight between the characters of Roper (John Saxon) and Bolo (Bolo Yeung) near the end of the film. At the
fight's climax Roper delivers a kick to the solar plexus or possibly balls of Bolo, the film then cuts to a reaction shot of Han (Shih Kien) and back to Bolo's head resting on Roper's foot. In between the Han reaction/Bolo's Death shot we audibly hear
another blow being struck. Rumours are that there was another shot of Roper delivering a blow to the back of Bolo's neck, possibly with the point of the elbow, which was maybe cut out due to it being a dangerous technique.

In 1991 the Board modified its policy on nunchaku to some extent so that the weapon was no longer removed on sight. Essentially it was the glamorous use of the weapon in a violent film that was of most concern, and the modified policy reflected that.
After 1991 a number of representations of nunchaku were passed but only when they were not actually in use or were displayed in non violent demonstrations of skill or served to establish the nature of a character. The video of Enter the Dragon
was resubmitted again in 1993 for widescreen release. This time the two remaining violence cuts were waived, as was the brief sight of nunchaku being carried, in accordance with the new policy. The only cut made this time was to sight of
Bruce Lee twirling and briefly using the nunchaku (21 seconds cut). Even under revised policy this scene was still not acceptable. | cut

Three of the five violence cuts made in 1973 were waived but two were maintained and the cuts to sight and use of nunchaku implemented in 1979 were repeated for video. The BBFC insisted that every last glimpse of nunchucks were removed. In
addition, they made two cuts to the sequence in which Bolo despatches Han's incompetent henchmen:
- The first cut is to an (offscreen) neckbreak - this version cuts away just as Bolo crouches to jerk and snap the poor sap's spine.
- The second cut occurs when Bolo cradles the final opponent in order to slowly break his back - the process and
sound effect of this act have been shortened.

The film was recalled in 1979 so that a brief sequence in which Bruce Lee twirls and uses nunchaku could be deleted, along with another sequence in which nunchaku were briefly seen being carried. The decision was taken to make these further cuts
because of the spread of nunchakus among youths in the London area. Concern had been expressed that the nunchakus demonstrated in martial arts films were being easily constructed and used by some violent individuals. As a result of concern on the part
of the police and judiciary it was decided that this weapon, which has no legal use in this country outside the martial arts class, should be removed from violent films in order to discourage its spread. The weapon was subsequently proscribed by the
Home Office so that it is now illegal to carry nunchakus unless en route to a bona fide martial arts school. | cut

See article from bbfc.co.uk : An extensive cuts list was drawn up which
covered every aspect of the violent action in the film. However, in the end, only five separate edits were confirmed. In one or two cases these were requests for reductions to the action rather than an outright deletion of the scene. These cuts included
crotch kicks and neck breaks during fight scenes, and a sequence in which glass bottles are smashed and wielded as weapons. Thanks to a reader who suggests that maybe the BBFC cuts weren't fully implemented:
Having seen the film many times in the cinema, the only scene that was cut was the Ohara vs Lee fight where the bottles part was removed, but on its re release in 1977 this scene was fully uncut, and ill never forget the gasps from
the audience when we were treated to this. The last time i saw the film in the cinema was in 1981 and again it was the fully uncut version. If you got your info from the bbfc then im afraid there wrong, I'v
seen the film in Aberdeen, Buckie, Elgin, and Keith cinemas, and they all screened the same uncut versions, |

UK: The Extended Version was passed 18 with previous BBFC cuts waived for:

UK: The Original Version was passed X (18) after further BBFC cuts for:

Exists as the original Hong Kong Version and an extended International Version. Promotional Material When former child actor and Hollywood TV sidekick Bruce Lee returned to his
native Hong Kong in 1971 to star in two films for fledgling company Golden Harvest, movie history was made thanks to one of the most iconic partnerships between star and studio that cinema has ever seen. In only a handful of films, Lee high-kicked his
way into audiences' imaginations forever, thanks to his blistering screen presence and his masterful 'Jeet Kune Do' fighting technique. The first two starring vehicles for Lee, The Big Boss and
Fist of Fury (both directed by Lo Wei), smashed all box office records in Hong Kong and made him the most famous face on the continent. Lee asserted his artistic independence by directing, writing and starring in
The Way of the Dragon , arguably his most thrilling and personal film. Tragically, on the cusp of achieving the international stardom he had long strived for, Bruce Lee died suddenly in 1973, aged only 32. Not to be
outdone by the tidal wave of 'Bruceploitation' films that followed, Golden Harvest completed two posthumous films using unreleased footage, 1978's Game of Death and its 1981 sequel, as well as two official
documentaries, the first of which hit cinemas only three months after Lee's death. Today, five decades since his passing, Bruce Lee continues to be the most beloved and influential martial artist in the world. This definitive collection, featuring
fresh and exclusive 4K restorations by Arrow Video from the best available film materials, hours of brand new bonus features and previously unreleased footage - including the extended Mandarin Cut of The Big Boss , now
ten minutes longer than any version ever released on video worldwide, and the never-before-seen 'log fight' from the original Game of Death shoot - is the ultimate tribute to Bruce Lee's enduring legacy and fruitful

| |
Lady Reporter (aka The Blonde Fury) is a 1989 USA / Hong Kong action comedy by Hoi Mang (as Hoi Man) Starring Cynthia Rothrock, Siu-Ho Chin and Hoi Mang
Exists as a shorter Hong Kong Version and a longer Export Version. UK: Previously passed 18 uncut for:
- 2023 Eureka Entertainment [Hong Kong + Export Versions] RB Blu-ray at UK
Amazon #ad released on 26th June 2023
Promotional Material Cynthia Rothrock 's first leading role was also the first (and to this day, only) time a Western actress had lead billing in a Hong Kong film.
Rothrock plays Cindy, the titular female reporter sent to investigate an unscrupulous newspaper editor ( Ronny Yu ). Teaming up with Elizabeth Lee ( Long Arm of
the Law Part 3 ), the two go up against a series of opponents played by some of the greatest "bad guy" actors in 80s cinema, including Billy Chow ( Fist of Legend ),
Jeff Falcon ( Outlaw Brothers , Six String Samurai ), and Vincent Lyn ( Tiger Cage ).
Mang Hoi handles directing duties here, but much like Yes, Madam! , this was a collaborative effort between Mang Hoi and Corey Yuen , and just
like that film the results are magnificent -- Mang Hoi's graceful and acrobatic choreography fusing perfectly with Corey Yuen's hard-hitting style. But the star here is Cynthia Rothrock, and this deservedly secured her position as one of the top action
stars of her era, and Eureka Classics is proud to present Lady Reporter in its UK debut on Blu-ray from a brand new 2K restoration . SPECIAL

Infinity Pool is a 2022 Canada/Hungary/France Sci-Fi horror by Brandon Cronenberg Starring Mia Goth, Alexander Skarsgård and Amanda Brugel
The movie was originally MPA NC-17 rated, but the producers decided to
appeal for an R rating. However the appeal was unsuccessful and the producers decided to cut the movie for an MPA R rating. The Canadian theatrical release started with a cut version but was later released in its uncut form. The BBFC 18 rated cinema

pictorial cuts details from movie-censorship.com. The cuts were:
- In the handjob scene on the beach, where Mia Goth's character helps out Alexander Skarsgård. The close-up including ejaculation was removed in the R rated version even though it was created with an artificial penis.
- In the drugged up and
colour enhanced orgy in the second half of the film, several more brief moments were removed featuring explicit (but unreal) views of genitalia, These shots were replaced by colourful alternative images.
- Extensive bloody knife injuries were
removed across several scenes, some of which were relaced with less bloody shots.
Summary Notes James and Em Foster are enjoying an all-inclusive beach vacation in the fictional island of La Tolqa, when a fatal accident exposes the resort's perverse subculture of

set marking the 50th anniversary of the famed actor and martial artist's death. The log fight scene, so called because of the large piece of wood that one of actors wields at the start of the sequence, is part of the approximately 100 minutes of raw
footage that Lee shot in 1972, before production was halted to enable Lee to take up Warner Bros' offer to make Enter the Dragon . The scene features Chieh Yuan, as one of Lee's allies, in combat with Dan Inosanto, who plays a master of Filipino
martial art eskrima. The log fight scene was known from photographs taken on the set, and from very brief excerpts used in the 1978 version. It appears to have become separated from the rest of the Game of Death footage after Lee's death, and was
discovered in 2016 in the Hong Kong archives of film studio Fortune Star, which now owns the catalogue of Game of Death producers Golden Harvest. |

EMBRACED THEMES OF VIOLENCE, MADNESS AND SENSUALITY... WITH THESE 4 FILMS, THOSE IMPULSES DARE TO GO EVEN DEEPER! In a genre known for its castles, crypts and candelabras, Italian Gothic also embraced themes of violence, madness and sexual
deviance. With these 4 films, those impulses dare to go even deeper. In 1964's THE MONSTER OF THE OPERA, director Renato Polselli and screenwriter Ernesto Gastaldi craft a surreal erotic shocker set within a contemporary dance troupe. Perhaps the
genre's rarest film, the berserk supernatural narrative of 1965's THE SEVENTH GRAVE also makes it among the strangest. For 1970's SCREAM OF THE DEMON LOVER, director José Luis Merino gathers classic traditions, then strips them naked and ties them to a
torture rack. And 1971's LADY FRANKENSTEIN delivers iconic EuroCult talent on both sides of the camera for one of the most luridly entertaining shockers of the decade. The films in this collection are now fully restored from their original negatives,

Years before he became revered as the 'Gentleman of British Horror', prolific filmmaker Pete Walker started his cinema career making hugely popular sexploitation movies and gangland thrillers. Walker's films
didn't shy away from controversial subjects -- prostitution, underage sex, pornography and the criminal underworld -- and proved irresistible to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. 'X'-rated productions like School for Sex (which played solidly in
London's West End for over a year) display the exceptional early talents of Britain's most celebrated and commercially successful director of his generation. Now for the very first time, Walker's finest non-horror movies are brought together for
this spectacular new box-set, starring a host of famous faces: Robin Askwith (Confessions of a Window Cleaner), Francoise Pascal (Mind Your Language), James Aubrey (Bouquet of Barbed Wire) and David Kernan (Carry On Abroad). The Pete Walker
Sexploitation Collection collects For Men Only (1967), School for Sex (1968), Cool It Carol! (1970) and Home Before Midnight (1978), all presented here in brand new HD restorations, and featuring an arresting array of exclusive extras, including
brand-new interviews with Walker himself. Extras: Rigid Slipcase featuring Artwork by Thomas Walker Booklet Notes by Author and Film-maker Simon Sheridan Cheeky Post Cards
