In the US there is an R rated Director's Cut. See version differences on IMDb : The
most notable differences from the theatrical version are as follows:
Some of the dialogue has been trimmed in the scene where Rafe (Ben Affleck) arrives in London.
The scene where Betty (Jaime King) talks about not liking church has some new dialogue, and some pre-existing dialogue appears to be from
different takes.
The scene where Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale) and Danny (Josh Hartnett) are swimming in the ocean has a couple of different camera angles and has been shortened, removing the conversation in Danny's convertible.
The
"Spine-tingling feeling" scene with Capt. Thurman (Dan Aykroyd) has been expanded to contain some extra dialogue about the Navy's concern over the missing Japanese fleet.
There are some additional ethnic slurs during the Dorie Miller
(Cuba Gooding Jr.) boxing match.
The main attack footage is more graphic. When people are blown out of sand bag barricades instead of whole bodies you see bloody limbs and torsos go flying. Also during the film's many strafing scenes we now see
huge chunks of meat and body parts being blown off the falling people. If you look closely during the "nurse strafing" scene, when Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale) and Sandra (Jennifer Garner) are ducking down by the fountain, you can see a man get cut
in half by the 20mm rounds coming from the strafing Zeros.
There are several new scenes on Battleship Row where we see sailors on fire, getting shot, and brutally dismembered by shrapnel. This includes a extremely graphic shot of a severed head.
The scene with Miller ('Cuba Gooding Jr' ) and Capt. Bennion (Peter Firth) now includes a brutal shot of Bennion moaning and crying as he holds his intestines in his hands. We also see Miller try to put them back in his stomach.
The
hospital scenes now include graphic shots of battlefield surgery and amputations, as well as close-up shots of severed limbs laying on the floor.
New non-graphic shots throughout the attack basically making it longer and more complete.
Dialogue during the attack includes more profanity.
The scene around the campfire with Rafe and Danny before they start training for the Dolittle raid is completely removed.
A whole new scene with Dolittle (Alec Baldwin) addressing the troops on the ship the night before the mission has
been added.
During the raid sequence some new dialogue and profanity has been added.
Peeping Tom is a 1960 UK crime drama by Michael Powell. With Karlheinz Böhm, Anna Massey and Moira Shearer.
Cut by 7 minutes for 1960 cinema release. Most but not all cuts have been restored for home video. The cut material has been lost so the current version is the best available
Summary review: An ordinary killer
A young man murders women, using a movie camera to film their dying expressions of terror.
What really elevates Peeping Tom , what makes so many of the contemporary criticisms absurd, is its
compassion. There's none of that watered-down Freudian guff we encounter in Psycho . Powell makes us feel for his serial killer - not so much by showing us that he feels pain but by showing us that he has ordinary, likeable human qualities as well
as madness.

The U.S version of the film (titled It's Not The Size That Counts ) featured additional footage shot by the distributors. These included an opening scene showing a penis

Summary Review: Ultimate anti-heroine
Rough girl Perdita and her demonic lover Romeo Dolorosa need humans to sacrifice following Romeo's religion before he can go on a mission ordered by mob boss Santos. They kidnap teen sweethearts Duane and Estelle
and travel with them to Las-Vegas.
Perdita is the ultimate anti-heroine in this amazingly underestimated treat. Hilarious, sexy, violent and at times wonderfully silly. The type of adventure Tarantino would
love to have made but fell short every time. Perdita has more girl power than Kill Bill by a mile.
In some ways a sequel to David Lynch's Wild At Heart (several of the minor characters are featured here in a story from the same
writer, Barry Gifford) and in a similar way all of the people are tainted (some more than others) and although Perdita and Romeo are the baddies you have to love them for their cool insanity and wicked sense of humour.

Warners executives
were confused and disgusted by the film; deeming it to be too experimental and sexually perverse. They insisted on twenty minutes of cuts which would remove much of Chas's back-story and introduce Jagger to the narrative sooner, resulting in an even more
confusing plot.
When Performance finally arrived at the BBFC for classification in October 1970 the film had suffered further cuts. The then director of the Board, John Trevelyan insisted on 16 more cuts to various scenes
of both sex and violence.
The most controversial sequence was the cross-cutting between scenes of Chas indulging in rough sex with a woman and scenes of him receiving an oddly sexualised yet brutal whipping at the hand of
Joey Maddocks (Chas's future victim). Cammell intended the scene to act as an insight into the animalistic nature of Chas's personality and his masculine relish for violence, but Trevelyan was adamant that the sex be removed from the scene. According to
Cammell, the director protested that removing the sex would reduce the scene to a sadistic side-show , to which Trevelyan allegedly replied so be it .

PETER RABBIT was classified PG for mild threat, comic violence in February 2018. It contains a scene in which the farmer, who has been established as being

Prior to the UK release of the film, but as a result of the film being shown in US cinemas, the BBFC

Approximately 4 minutes of cut footage in two scenes:

The second scene had Mike and Jody run into the Tall Man in the funeral home. Jody shoots the Tall Man
several times with his shotgun but it has no effect on him. He then knocks Mike onto the floor and picks up Jody by the neck with one hand! Mike sees a fire extinguisher and remembers when the Tall Man reacted badly when he passed by Reggie's Ice Cream

From IMDb. The film suffered cuts for its R Rating to avoid an NC-17. The cut material has never re-surfaced so the R Rated Version is the best available. A work print reveals extra scenes that were not included in the final version, some were for

After the house blows up in the beginning, there is no Funeral scene. After Reggie runs out, Mike runs out and Reggie says he knew it before it was going to happen. Mike tells Reggie that they could probably die trying to find The Tall Man and Reggie
replys Hey, we all got to go sometime.
After Mike encounters the Liz look-alike and sees the Worm-type creature crawl out of her back and Reggie torches him with the flamethrower, Mike wakes up finding out it was all a dream and Reggie
tells him to get ready as he's ready to leave in his car.
There is a rumored scene that Mike has a dream that he makes love with Liz all over the World.
The sphere attack on Father Meyers is also much gorier. We see a much bigger geyser
of blood spurt out the back of the sphere and we see a huge puddle of blood forming in front of him.
When Mike & Liz are sleeping in the abandoned Manor they along with Liz & Reggie take refuge in, after Mike kisses Liz, they have a
Telepathic love scene and after it finishes, Liz tells Mike That's about the safest sex we'll ever have.
When the gold "Ripper" sphere drives itself into the Caretaker's back and sends him flying across the Casket Room, we see a
lot more blood squirt from his body.
After The Tall Man's body is pumped full of acid and Mike, Reggie & Liz escape with Alchemy in the Hearse, we see a new Tall Man come out of the Space Gate and we see him throwing the dead Tall Man into
it. This scene can be seen at the beginning of Phantasm III: Lord Of The Dead .

Summary Review : Better than the Original
In fact it is not as violent or gory as
it is said to be. Phantasm 3 has lots of great ideas and cannot be taken seriously at times, although I wouldn't put it into the fun-splatter genre.
I didn't really care for the introduction of Kevin Connors in part
3 as an eight-year-old who can shoot than anyone else and drive a car, seems a little absurd.
Nonetheless, I loved this film and can strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys horror/sci-fi and wants more than the usual

Phantom of Death is a 1988 Italy horror thriller by Ruggero Deodato. Starring Michael York, Edwige Fenech and Donald Pleasence.
Cut by the BBFC for 1989 release on VHS. Uncut since 2007 DVD.
Summary Review: Quite Good
Directed by Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust) this is probably the last half decent film he made before disappearing from view.
Michael York plays the
pianist who becomes mad after discovering he has a disease that makes him rapidly grow old. Donald Pleasence is the cop on the trail of the killer but at the same time being driven to the edge by the constant taunts of the killer.
It's quite a nicely directed film and is mostly entertaining but it's no way as extreme or nasty as the Directors more infamous work. It does still contain some ok deaths with alright amounts of blood on offer. Pleasence's
performance is highly amusing and his reaction to the death of one of his police colleagues is absolutely priceless. It all leads to a totally dramatic ending that you would only see in an Italian film.

for its British theatrical release. Two scenes were lost to British audiences-- the dispatching of Patrick Troughton's rat-catcher by The Dwarf (quick but very nasty) and the Phantom tearing off his mask to the stunned audience. Both these scenes are
on this DVD version and add some much-needed grislyness to the film.
The Phantom of the Opera is a 1998 Italy horror by Dario Argento. Starring Julian Sands and Asia Argento and Andrea Di Stefano.
The US R rated version is cut but UK 18 rated releases are uncut.
Summary Notes
Standard story of the Phantom does have one major variation - The phantom is not a disfigured individual, but rather is an unwashed orphan abandoned in the sewers under the Paris
Opera & raised by rats. The Phantom invokes death upon anyone who dares harm his beloved rats. In fact, The Phantom's nemesis is the chief exterminator who develops a rat-catching machine.

Alternative Ending
From IMDb:
In the book Future Tense by John
Brosnan, an alternate ending to the film was described: Bass originally filmed a spectacular, surreal montage lasting four minutes, showing what life would be like in the 'new' Earth, but this was cut by the distributor. A preview version with this
ending intact was shown to some audiences in 1973-4.
The alternate ending surfaced in 2012. The 35mm original footage of the ending was scanned and color corrected by the Academy Film Archive. Beginning in 2013, repertory showings of the film
showed the alternate ending after the main feature. However Paramount have so far refused to licence the new material for inclusion in the film but it is now available for disk extras.

Jennifer Corvino, the daughter of a famous actor, has had trouble with sleepwalking for some time. Her doctor said that it can develop a split personality. She discovers her alternate

world has ever known, or should I say, unknown"
This is a refreshingly offbeat and wacky giallo with supernatural overtones that I instantly loved. However, I think the 110-minute version is a bit overlong and could use
some editing of superfluous scenes. The 82-minute American version Creepers cuts some good gore and a couple of important scenes, so I think the best cut would be somewhere between the two available versions.

Faked Animal Cruelty
Jon notes:
The film features scenes of a simian being experimented on and electrocuted! The scenes had been faked by clever CGI
and animatronics, but if you've seen the film, and didn't know that the cruelty was faked, it looks horrendously real, and abhorrent!
The film received a 12A rating (for disturbing images ) and the BBFC DIDN'T mention
anything in the BBFC Advice about the cruelty. When I emailed them about it, they said as long as the cruelty is fake, they can and will pass it!
If animal cruelty has been faked, and the BBFC are shown evidence to backup that
fakeness, then it can be passed, at any rating.

The BBFC commented:
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS is a comedy about a man who witnesses a murder and is forced to go on the run from the police, along with his drug dealer. The film was classified '15' for frequent drug use and
references, strong language and comic violence.
As the lead character is a regular drug user, sight of soft drug use (in the form of cannabis smoking) and verbal drug references are found throughout the film. However, although the tone of the
film is light it does not, as a whole, promote or encourage such drug use. There is also frequent use of strong language (BBFC Guidelines at '15' state that 'There may frequent use of strong language') and some scenes of strong but comic violence. The
scenes of comic violence include sight of a tough policewoman being kicked in the groin by a man and close up sight of an ear with part of it having been shot off. The film also contains a number of strong sex references such as You wanted to eat that
lollipop out of that stripper's snatch and You'll blow a bunch of dudes and become a lesbian, which are crude but in line with the Guideline requirement that, at '15', 'there may be strong verbal references to sexual behaviour'.
However in an article from news.bbc.co.uk Canadian actor Seth Rogen has said that one of the drug scenes from his new film Pineapple Express had to be specially edited for UK audiences. Rogen said:
There's a scene in the movie when we sell [drugs] to high school kids - that's still in there I assume. But in the American version of the scene we also smoke weed with them and hang out. It's a really explicit scene of
us getting high with these 11-year-olds. I think for the UK they've kind of softened it a bit.

The BBFC agreed to an uncut 18 rated DVD release in 2008 but the release was cancelled.
The BBFC commented in 2008 about the 3 last cuts to be waived:
Probably the most difficult scene was the one featuring a man assaulting a woman with live chickens. However, a careful viewing of the scene suggested that the handling of the chickens, although rough, was no stronger
than other scenes of animals being manhandled that had been passed in other films. Furthermore, although the chickens were killed, the killing was quick and clean and therefore not in breach of BBFC policy on animal cruelty.
The scene showing a man masturbating and injecting semen into a woman's vagina was grotesque and repulsive, rather than erotic. Although the Board had previously expressed concerns about the non-consensual nature of the scene, the
datedness of the film and the lack of credibility of the scene, argued against intervention. With regard to the sexual violence in the scene, the Board's conclusion was that the scene was so over-the-top and so divorced from reality, that the likely
response was disgust, shock and horror, rather than arousal.
The brief explicit fellatio could be justified by the wider context of the film, in that the whole purpose of the film was to shock, disgust and amuse (in
a blackly comic fashion), rather than to arouse, and the explicitness of the image was important in creating the film's effect.
The BBFC's ratings info from 2022 reads:
nudity : There is focus on a man's dilating anus, in close-up detail. There is wider full nudity.
sex : There is a scene of unsimulated
fellatio between a fictional mother and son. There are other strong sex scenes, as well as references to ejaculation, masturbation and troilism. A man's semen is seen, in close-up detail.
sexual violence and sexual threat :
A man rapes a woman, while daubing her in chicken blood. After masturbating over her, a man artificially inseminates an unconscious female prisoner. A man exposes himself to schoolgirls.
other issues: In unsimulated
footage, a woman puts dog excrement in her mouth. There is infrequent very strong language ('c**t'), regular strong language ('f**k', 'motherf**ker') and discriminatory terms such as 'fag', 'dyke' and 'queen'. A chicken is killed on-screen. Threat, gore
and implied violence are strong. There is brief drug misuse.

From horror's team of Roger Corman, Vincent Price and, of course, Edgar Allen Poe comes this menacing, macabre and suspenseful tale of insanity, death and
betrayal. This film is certainly one of, but maybe even the finest Corman-Poe film. It's Poe at his most devilishly malicious as it deals with themes of torture, and the most frightening method of death known to man; being buried alive.

Pixels - 2015 USA action comedy by Chris Columbus.
According to some of the emails leaked from Sony, the studio heavily edited the movie Pixels to ensure it didn't fall foul of the ever-present Chinese censors.
Reuters is reporting that the original script for the movie, which made frequent references to China, was sanitized after executives felt it could hinder its global box office appeal.
For example, one scene, which featured pixelated aliens
blasting a hole into the Great Wall of China, was decided to be too inflammatory for Chinese censors. Li Chow, chief representative of Sony Pictures in China, explained that although the film featured other landmarks being destroyed, it was simply better
to lose the scene.
The original script also apparently contained references to a Communist Conspiracy brother hacking an email server. As you can expect, this was also stripped in an attempt to pass the movie for the Chinese market. In fact, by
the end of the cull, there were no references to the authoritarian nation left in the script.

The R Rated US theatrical Version is shorter. Rodriguez mentions a couple of scenes where the
ratings board mandated massive trims (they involve brain eating and torso tearing), but the added back bits don't really accentuate the excess. So aside from a few additional seconds of melting testicles, and an overall augmented level of post-gunshot
spray, Planet Terror plays similarly to the Theatrical Version.

WWII Action/Drama about a 'Dirty Dozen-type' unit operating behind enemy lines in North
Africa.
A British Petroleum executive (Michael Caine) is assigned to work with the British Army handling port duties for incoming fuels. This gives him the official rank of Captain in the British Army. The Colonel (Nigel Green) in charge of the unit
is told he must have a British officer accompany his men on a dangerous mission 400 miles behind the German lines and is saddled with the Petroleum executive, who tries to argue his way out by saying that his contract states he is to only work port
duties. That argument is lost on the Brigade Commander (Harry Andrews - Ice Cold in Alex; The Hill)) who simply points out that the executive is wearing a British uniform. The real leader of the Dirty Dozen (Nigel Davenport - A Man for All Seasons; The
Royal Hunt of the Sun; No Blade of Grass), a released prisoner himself, doesn't need or want the British officer, who's supposed to be in charge, but he's promised an extra 2,000 British Pounds if he gets him back alive.

A joke about the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America was cut from Jean Dujardin's, Les Infideles , new film so he could win the Best Actor
Oscar for The Artist , it has emerged.
A source close to the makers of Les Infideles confirmed that Jean Dujardin played a love cheat French businessman in one of the scenes cut out of the film. In the removed extract, the
Frenchman had travelled to New York to conduct an affair, while telling his wife that he was working hard in an office in Manhattan.
As he is about to seduce his lover in a hotel room, the businessman receives a phone call from
his wife and tells her: Yes, yes, my darling, everything is fine. Meanwhile, the September 11 terrorist attacks of 2001 can be seen starting outside the window behind him, as a passenger plane flies in to the World Trade Centre. Original news
footage was used in the sketch.
The source said: Yes, the scene was considered too much for America. It would have been provocative, especially in the run-up to the Oscars and other awards.
The film

Summary Review: Little Shop of Sexy Horrors
A middle-aged man buys a plant with a sexy voice that develops a craving for insects, frogs, dogs... and humans.
Micro budget take on
Roger Corman's Little Shop of Horrors. The premise is used to string together a few sex scenes that were quite hard for the time. Mostly irrelevant these days.
The Pleasure Girls is a 1965 UK drama by Gerry O'Hara. Starring Francesca Annis, Anneke Wills and Tony Tanner.
Cut by the BBFC for X rated 1965 cinema release. Uncut for 15 rated home video releases from 2010.
Summary Review: Top Notch
Pleasure Girls is a real
period gem. Great cast. Great locations. Beautifully shot. A rather classy production and a real time tripper. The film, shot in black and white, really captures London circa 1964.
Very simple story about a girl who comes
to London to be a model and the various characters she comes across in her Kensington flat share.
The story is a bit silly and trite at times, but enjoyably so. As an eye over London at that time it's surprisingly
illuminating in terms of fashion, cars, clothes, pretty girls and the early days the of the Swinging London era.
